Museum admission is free. Walk-up tickets are now available on the door, but to guarantee entry at busy times, and to avoid waiting, booking tickets in advance is recommended. Booking is essential for our major exhibitions.

SELF-GUIDED GROUP VISITS

Tours at the Ashmolean Museum

If you're a tour operator, language school or other commercial group, you can now book your self-guided visit online.

In the busy summer holidays, booking is essential.

The Ashmolean is maintaining Covid-secure measures to prioritise the safety of our visitors and staff. So that we can all enjoy the collections safely, you will notice a number of changes at the Museum.

Entry to the Museum is free but pre-booking is required for groups and for our ticketed exhibitions.

TEMPORARY GALLERY CLOSURES

Restaurant early closing at 5pm

The Rooftop Restaurant will close at 5pm, with last food orders at 4pm (and last drink orders 4.30pm), on the following dates: Wed 6 Sep, Sun 10 Sep, Tue 12 Sep, Thu 14 Sep & Sat 16 Sep. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Greek and Roman Sculpture Gallery partial closure
19 Sep

The Greek and Roman Sculpture, Gallery 21, on the Ground Floor will be partially closed on Tue 19 Sep all day for conservation work.

European and Western Art Galleries closures
23 Sep

The European Art Gallery 44 will be closed from 11.30-3pm and several other Western Art Galleries 43-56 on Floor 2 will close from 12.15-2.15pm on Sat 23 Sep.
The Pissarro, Pre-Raphaelites and 19th-century Art Galleries 65, 66 and 67 on Floor 3 will also close from 12-1.15pm.
