Please support this year's appeal and help us to bring the colours of the past to life

Your gift will be doubled!

Your gift to this year's appeal will be matched by a generous donor, so your support will make double the difference to the work carried out at the Museum.

Home to half a million years of history, the Ashmolean Museum offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to travel millennia in minutes and explore art and archaeology from around the globe – ranging from Egyptian artefacts and Anglo-Saxon treasures, to modern masterpieces. Free to all and open every day, we offer something for everyone.

The Ashmolean depends on you, its supporters, in everything it does and we ask that you please support us once more. Donations to our 2023–24 appeal will help underpin all of our work and we welcome donations from all those who want to help us.

What your gift could do

With your help, we can continue to bring the colours of the past to life through our exhibitions, events and programming, our work with schools and students, and our cutting-edge research and conservation work.

  • £10 a month would help our Conservators to maintain their supplies of gloves, masks, brushes, and acid free tissue paper, all essential for preserving objects in the collection.
  • A single gift of £50 would buy 2 large sheets of mount board to mount works of art on paper to high conservation standards.
  • £250 would support the creation of one handling bag for use by students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • £1,000 funds the creation of a gallery package for a school group that would include a self-guided trail, art materials, and handling resources.

Donations of all sizes are very much appreciated and will support the work at the very heart of our mission – fuelling imaginations and transforming lives through inspiring and enlivening experiences – whilst also allowing us to look to the future with
ambition and confidence.

We need your help

Alongside the Museum's successes, the Ashmolean has faced challenges. The Museum has been hit hard by the rising cost of living, with our utility costs spiralling.

Now more than ever we depend on your support to keep our lights on and our blue doors freely open to the public.

Thank you for your support.
