With Alice Foster, art historian

The British War Propaganda Bureau appointed Sir Muirhead Bone as Britain’s first official war artist in May 1916. Art historian Alice Foster will take us through a short selection of the major artists and artworks which followed.

This will include the work of the brothers Paul and John Nash, Sir Stanley Spencer and Christopher Nevinson among others. She will accompany these images with selected readings.

The talk will be available to watch live on Zoom for those not able to attend in person. A recording of the event will be shared with ticketholders on request following the event.
