POETRY, MUSIC & CRAFTS DROP-IN

INSPIRED BY THE DIA AL-AZZAWI EXHIBITION

FREE, drop-in event for families and adults

With artist Hanan Zein Eddin, oud player Rihab Azar and poets Adnan al Sayegh & Jenny Lewis

Takes place in the Dia al-Azzawi exhibition, gallery 8, lower ground floor

To mark the last weekend of the Dia al-Azzawi exhibition, families can drop in to make a zig-zag book inspired by the 'dafatir' works of the artist Dia al-Azzawi in his exhibition.

There will also be stories and poems read in the exhibition gallery with Hanan Zein Eddin. You'll enjoy beautiful music played on the oud by Rihab Azar and listen to a performance of 'Writing Mesopotamia' - originally written to mark the 10th anniversary of the start of the Iraq War in March-April 2003.

Renowned Iraqi poet Adnan al Sayegh and Oxford-based poet Jenny Lewis will both explore attitudes to, and affects of, the war, in their poetry.

All materials will be provided.
