MUSLIM CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC
Tabla Drums
This introduction to tabla drums followed by two short performances, takes inspiration from Amir Khusrau (1253-1325) a court poet and musician of North India, known as the 'Father of Qawwali’ - a devotional form of singing of the Sufis in the Indian subcontinent. With celebrated singer and musician Kaleem Raza, accompanied by Master Ijaz Klate on Harmonium and Zain Rashid on Tabla.

Traditional Indian dancer, Pragnas Das from the Disciple of Guru Shrimati Tandra Bos treats us to a a wonderful display of Kathak (Lucknow Garana) style of dance. The name of this wonderful dance performance is called 'Bhavrang'.
