Marble Hill was built in the 1720s for the cultured socialite Henrietta Howard, as a retreat from the crowds and bustle of early Georgian London. The house is a perfect example of a neo-Palladian villa and recent research has shown that the gardens were also influenced by Classical principles. They are now in the care of English Heritage, the conservation charity. Anna spoke about Henrietta's remarkable life and English Heritage's restoration of her very special house and garden.
