With Rana Begum, artist, and Dr Lena Fritsch, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Ashmolean Museum

Hear about internationally acclaimed artist Rana Begum’s large-sized installation, 'No 592, 2015', which recently entered the Ashmolean’s collections, as well as the artist’s wider work. Her 'No 592' display adorns the wall by the Chantrey Wall staircase on the first floor of the Museum, leading up to the Modern Art gallery, 3M.

Begum will touch on the importance of colour and light and her artistic inspirations, including Minimalism and Islamic ornamentation. The event will take place as part of the Ashmolean's ‘World in Colour’ season, which takes inspiration from and expands beyond our collections and exhibitions through a programme of engaging talks, events and workshops.
